Nikolai Nikolaevich Pozdnyakov

was born in 1967 in the village of Krutogoroskiy in the Sobolevskiy region of Kamchatka.

In 1982, he finished school and entered vocational college. In 1985, he graduated with honors.

In 1985, he was called for military service.

From 1987 to 1998, he worked as an automobile crane machinist.

In 1998, he founded a private woodworking company.

In 2006, devoted to environmental protection, he joined the World Wildlife Fund.

In 2009, he became Deputy Director for General Affairs at Kronotsky Reserve.

Since 2010, he has studied at the Far Eastern Academy of Public Administration in the specialty of “state and municipal management”.

A sea otter's fur is the most expensive in the world. Long ago, there were so many sea otters here that Kronotsky Bay was called «Beaver Sea», but in the mid-18th century they were wiped out.
